Monroe, Wisconsin. Home of Cheese Days the happiest place on earth!

September 19, 2012 3 Comments

Every two years the tents go up and Monroe Wisconsin is invaded by cheese, beer and landjaeger lovers. Cheese Days is a celebration of you guessed it… cheese…. Monroe is the cheese lovers mecca of North America. Long story short these guys know how to celebrate all things cheese.

The crowds in the cheese tasting tent.

Cream Puffs!

The line for cheese curds was long… In fact this was as short as it was all day but TOTALLY worth it.

Deep fried cheese curds. These are the best cheese curds you will ever have. Somehow light despite being fried and still so fresh they squeak.

The crowds line up to watch the traditional Swiss and German choirs perform.

They have to have tractors on display too!

At the end of the day we stopped into my favorite cheese shop, Alp & Dell and stocked up on some of our favorite cheeses and some new flavors to try.

Cant wait two whole years to make it to Cheese Days? Check out the Alp & Dell online cheese store and order some cheese for yourself. You wont regret it!

Oh, hi!

You know those people who wear foam cheese wedges on their head? I’m one of them. Cheesehead-hat-hair is the bane of my existence. I am a proud Wisconsin dairy farmer, a mom and a wife. I say things I shouldn’t say entirely too often. Good cheese and beer are my love language. When I die I hope to have pre-written one of those funny obituaries that goes viral.
