Getting a Brown Swiss heifer ready to show

Special colored shavings for special cows!

Jersey cows showing in the ring and the cool decorations that the Expo folks come up with each year.

By far the most popular meal on the Expo grounds comes from the Badger Dairy Club’s Grilled Cheese Stand. This tents churns out grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate shakes, sure to hit the spot and folks don’t mind the long line to get their fix.

The Grand Champion Guernsey cow is acting a little tired after showing and waiting to get her picture taken. Her owner is just the right height to hold her head up.

Each breed of cow has their own show during the week of World Dairy Expo and one Grand Champion cow is picked. On Saturday night each Grand Champion cow of the 7 breeds; Holstein, Red and White, Brown Swiss, Jersey, Guernsey, Milking Shorthorn and Ayrshire are lead out in a very special show and the Supreme Grand Champion cow is picked. This year the honor went to the Holstein cow.

One of the best parts of Expo is getting to connect with friends that you haven’t seen in a long time. Of course I also love getting my friends hooked on Spotted Cow beer!

This year’s World Dairy Expo weather went from warm and sunny to cold and cloudy. You never know what the weather will be in Wisconsin in the winter!

The World Dairy Expo is a place to check out the newest technologies and ask questions about products from the folks who know. A lot of business gets done during this week.

Oh, hi!

You know those people who wear foam cheese wedges on their head? I’m one of them. Cheesehead-hat-hair is the bane of my existence. I am a proud Wisconsin dairy farmer, a mom and a wife. I say things I shouldn’t say entirely too often. Good cheese and beer are my love language. When I die I hope to have pre-written one of those funny obituaries that goes viral.
