Savory Cheddar and Sausage Oatmeal

Oatmeal has always been known to stick to your ribs, and it’s a great way to get in some extra whole grains. By going savory over sweet, we can easily add in protein and veggies for a power-packed start to our day.

Ingredients
  

Oatmeal Base

  • Chicken Broth
  • Milk
  • Oatmeal
  • Cheddar Cheese

Topping

  • Farmland Sausage
  • Sauteed Spinach
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook oatmeal according to package directions, using an equal mixture of chicken broth and milk as the liquid.
  • Stir in shredded cheese. (I add about ½ cup for every 1 cup of dry oatmeal I use.)
  • Top with sauteed vegetables and browned sausage, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
