This simple to make whipped feta dip is perfect to compliment hummus, on a cheeseboard, topping a salad or along side roasted meat. The best part is that it only takes a few minutes and a few ingredients to make.
It was news to me that whipped feta dip was a new trend, but once I heard of it, I knew I had to make it. While we don't have a single favorite cheese in our house, good feta is definitely on the short list.
Which type of feta cheese should you buy?
So which type of feta is the best? Of course personal preference comes into play but generally I think the best feta comes in a block and wrapped or even better in a tub with brine. Too often the crumbled feta I see at the store is dry and doesn't have that salty kick that makes feta so delicious. When I am at the store, I look for Odyssey brand feta. It's delicious and I know several of the farmers who's milk goes to the cheese plant where it is made.
Garlicky Feta Salad Dressing
I try out a new recipe several times before I share it with you, tweaking it until it's just right. This time I kind of ended up with two recipes that are similar, yet different. By increasing the yogurt, I made a thinner end product that was a delicious salad dressing.
QUICK TIP: Last year for Christmas (or maybe it was my birthday?) my Mother-in-Law gifted me a Ninja blender system. I really love this blender and it came with a food processor bowl as well as two smoothie tumblers. I mention this because I found the smoothie tumblers to be perfect for making this recipe.
